Who's who?!??

Matthew Skene (Groom)

Matthew is soon-to-be a 30 year old *oh god!* Sales and Marking manager. He enjoys drinking bourbon and smoking cigars with his buddies - he is a former/present alcoholic, who may need an intervention in the future (not actually).

 

Matt first met Christina at a friend's party and blew her away with the amazing magician skills. Ironically, she later forbid him from performing magic because she got sick of being his guinea pig.

 

Hilarity ensued.

 

Some time later, Matt proposed to Christina in a crowded restaurant and she said YES. Everybody applauded. Based on a True Story, catch the sequel during the American Independence Day weekend.

 

​Christina Sohn (Bride)

Christinasaurus AKA bridezilla is a soon-to-be 26 year old nurse who often says "I don't care" about her wedding but then freaks out in the back corner and eats her feelings away with various types of food. Her recent food obsession is cheese and she managed to eat a whole brick of cheese by herself in a day.

 

Christina first met Matthew at a Christmas party and thought he was pretty cute even before the beer goggles were on. She instantly liked Matt more as he was willing to take her to different restaurants and pay for all her food (even two mains + appetizier + dessert, yes she can eat alot). As time went on, they grew more fond of each other and their love for food grew bigger. Now, they proudly call themselves as foodies and one of their favourite activities is trying out different restaurants.

 

Braedon McKinlay (Best Man)

Matt first met Braedon through Christina's Matron of Honor, Danielle. While Braedon is now Danielle's husband, he still remain's bromantically engaged as Matt's wingman. Many nights have been spent smoking cigars and drinking whisky outside while solving the worlds problems. While we can't ever seem to remember the details of our conversations the next day, we can rest assured knowing that many of Braedon's resolutions include the use of robotic drones, or peer to peer currencies, while many of Matt's ideas include the acquisition of greater power - or if that fails - bug-out bags and a predetermined path up north.

 

Danielle McKinlay (Matron of Honor)

Dani and Christina met in university and became very close due to their mutual love for cheese and wine. Dani recently became lactose intolerant thus it hindered their friendship, but after purchasing a bottle of lactase, everything was forgiven and now they are closer than ever. They often enjoy a themed get-togethers such as T-party (T stands for tequilla not tea), midnight apocolypse, zombie survival night, etc. Lately, they have included personal challenges to their parties (ie. who can drink the most or who can eat a large plate of pasta in one sitting), making their get-togethers more dangerous..

 

Kristine Seibel (Master of Ceremony)

Kris and Christina were forced to be roommates in first year university. Thankfully, they hit it off instantly and became friends. They became so close that Christina was even kind enough to test Kris' deathly(?) gluten allergy by accidently(?) spilling pasta water in Kris' food. Then she later used this "trick" to force Kris to do things that Kris did not want to do such as doing the dishes and taking out garbage. Their friendship is definitely one of a kind!

 

Scott Skene (Groomsman)

Scott - as Matt's older brother - has possibly known Matt the longest out of entire the wedding party, and perhaps is also the most responsible for shaping Matt's world view at a young age (so if things kinda go off the rails in future, it might be his fault). As Scott has given Matt fashion advice on several occasions (how to properly wear a suit jacket, tie clip, do a bow tie, tying showlaces, etc), Scott will be responsible the day of the wedding for making sure that Matt and the rest of the groomsmen are properly dressed and without any glaring fashion faux pas.

 

Andrew Maclean (Groomsman)

Andrew Maclean - Mailman, Firefighter, Husband & Father! Andrew is Matt's Brother-In-Law from Across The Pond, making the journey over for the wedding. Andrew is an exceptional athlete, excelling in all Scottish sports ("Football", Tennis & Golf). He'll need to use all of his athletic talents on the wedding day while he juggles his responsibilities as a Groomsman and daddy of two (2½ year old, and new born). Don't worry Andrew - you're not required to make a speech (Christina has a hard time following the Scottish accent).

 

Sam Sohn (Groomsman)

Hyeongje from a different Eomeoni - or in Christina's case - brother from the same mother. Sam is currently studying abroad as a med student, but will be making the rockstar trip in & out for the wedding. He is also, unofficially, the official English-Korean translator for the event. Sam, shares an appreciation and taste for hard liquer with Matt, and a love for food and flavour with Christina. However, despite his slim appearance, he can really pack the food away, and is very excited for the cocktail h'orderves, 3-course meal, and Late Night Buffet! 

 

Jennifer Gainham (Bridesmaid)

Jen and Christina have been friends since elementary school. Jen is a kind friend who puts up with Christina's food obsessions and inappropriate jokes, she even fended off not so good-looking guys when Christina was not wearing her glasses. Most importantly, Jen was the one who introduced Christina to Matt, and because she is such a good friend, she even sacrificed herself by attending all of their dates because Christina can be socially awkward especially when she's nervous. Without Jen, today's Christina + Matt could not have happened.

 

Yahlehly Lopez (Bridesmaid)

Yahl and Christina met in highschool. Their friendship involved going to the library to write each other a funny blurb about that day and then surprising each other with numerous random emails. Christina was known as the "mom" as she often forced Yahl to eat certain food that she did not like. Yahl in return took Christina to concerts to educate her in various genre of music. For many years, Yahl stood strongly by her side to support her through difficult times, making their friendship even stronger. Yahl is a true friend whom Christina dearly treasures.

 

Katherine Ganter (Bridesmaid)

Kat and Christina met in nursing school and although Kat has the resting angry face which scared Christina off at first, they became very close after sharing their mutual love for puppies and fear of pregnant bellies. Kat recently shared an important tidbit about a wedding which was that none of the bridesmaids can be prettier than the bride as their beauty may outshine the bride's. This was seriously considered and all bridesmaids positions including the matron of honor was going to be taken back but due to Christina's lack of courage, she decided to keep them all and just put them in ugly dresses.
